( Convenient enough. Yukimura will hear a knock at his door-- when he opens it, however, Masamune won't be there. Rather, a small basket with bow and ribbon about the handle is set on the ground and inside it on a pillow is multi-tailed sleepy friend, stretching as it yawns to wake up. Upon noticing Yukimura, it looks up at him curiously before its tails swish variously in excitement. There is a small scroll parchment attached to a bow adorning the fox's neck. Unrolling it is a handwritten note in Japanese:
Thanks. You made me remember my focus on things.
It's cuter than the other punk fox you hang around, don't you think? It chased me around a lot in Shantih. Feels like it was nagging me about not forgetting to keep my promise to you. Please accept it as reaffirmation of this. Let's make the most of our time here, with no politics and duties in the way!
[True to form, he does hear the knock on his door. But by the time he has scurried up and reached the door to open it, there is no sign of Masamune or anyone in the corridors.
He glances down, a little confused, before crouching down closer to the little multi-tailed fox and plucking the note from in front of it.]
Hello there... [He rubs a finger across the crown of the little fox's head, and smiles a little as it nuzzles back.] Did Lord Masamune drop you off here?
[He sits back against the frame of the door, and the little fox scrabbles up onto his knee and perches there while he reads the note. It doesn't take too long to finish it.
Once he does, he sits back, still looking a little bemused, but also a little thoughtful.]
So. You are a symbol of a promise and a bond then?
[The fox makes a little chirping sound and headbutts his hand.]
I see, I see. So I will need to take good care of you. [... It doesn't sound like too much of a hardship.]
